Rise Living Groundbreaking Ceremony

Queen Latifah Affordable Housing Project

Jong Sook Nee and Yuqing Tian were pleased to attend the Groundbreaking Ceremony for an exciting new development in Newark, NJ. This project, known as Rise Living, is a collaboration between Life Assets Development, Gonsosa, and the BlueSugar Corporation, which was co-founded by Queen Latifah.

The project will provide much-needed development in the South Ward of Newark, which does not get enough attention from developers. During the ceremony, Queen Latifah explained her interest in providing housing and community opportunities in the neighborhood. Her family’s roots in the City of Newark and her continued ties to the community allowed her to remain committed to this project over the past 6 years.

With the determination and experience of the Gonsosa team, Queen Latifah was able to finally break ground on this amazing development. Rise Living will soon be the home of 76 residential units and up to 1,900 square feet of community space for nonprofit organizations.
