Q&A Session with Founder, Jong Sook Nee

Can you share the story behind the founding of your law firm? What inspired you to start your own practice?

At first, I never thought I'd be running my own business. My plan was to specialize in representing clients in the development practice area of the firm I worked for. But as time went on, I saw that if I really wanted to shape my career the way I wanted and break free from some constraints, starting my own firm was the way to go. It gave me the freedom to chase after my goals on my own terms.

What sets your law firm apart from others in the industry?

What sets us apart is how much we genuinely care about our clients and their projects. We get it - we know the hurdles and tricky situations they come up against, and we're determined to make things happen for them. We believe in putting in the effort, staying dedicated, and most importantly, in nurturing long-lasting connections because we understand that real success is built on trust and relationships.

What were some of the biggest challenges you faced when starting your law firm, and how did you overcome them?

Starting a law firm was no walk in the park - we faced a heap of challenges, from figuring out the ins and outs of running a firm to drumming up clients. But we didn't let that hold us back. With a positive mindset, a readiness to take chances, and a whole lot of "let's do this" energy, we tackled those hurdles head-on and kept pushing forward.

What do you consider the most significant milestones or achievements of your law firm since its inception?

Looking back on our journey, one of the big moments that stands out is when we realized just how much our clients trust us. When they come back to us time and again, it speaks volumes about the way we do things and the bonds we've formed.

Can you share a particularly memorable case or client experience that encapsulates the values of your law firm?

Let me tell you about this one case that really sticks with us. We had to handle several new markets tax credit projects all at once, which was no small feat. But what made it stand out was when our client mentioned how impressed they were with how smoothly everything went. They felt like they were our top priority, getting our full focus and commitment from start to finish.

How do you balance the demands of running a successful law firm with maintaining a fulfilling personal life? And what advice can you give to other entrepreneurs?

To all the fellow entrepreneurs out there diving into the hustle, here's a tip from my playbook: Sure, acknowledge the hurdles coming your way, but also, don't overlook the power you've got over your own schedule. Make time for yourself, okay! Take care of your mind and body, and hey, enjoy the flexibility you've got on your side. Because here's the thing: Success isn't just about grinding away—it's about crafting a life that makes you happy and fulfilled.
